================================================================== Small Businesss Resource Guide 2002 January 30, 2002 ================================================================== Minimum SBRG Configuration Requirements: Windows: Win 95/98/NT/2000/XP/ME Macintosh: PowerPC with System 8.6 or higher Recommended Browser: Internet Explorer 5.0 or later Recommended Display: 800 x 600 Thousands of colors or higher *Adobe Acrobat (Acrobat Approval provided: see below for details) Starting the SBRG: The CD should start automatically. If not, open the CD and double-click the file marked "Start". ADOBE ACROBAT: *Note: To get the entire benefits of the SBRG, you must have a full-version of Acrobat 4.0, 5.0 or Acrobat Approval installed on your computer. Acrobat Reader may be used but with some limitations. A fully functional version of Acrobat Approval 5.05 is included on the SBRG CD-ROM. To install, navigate to the "Acrobat" folder on the SBRG CD and double-click "Setup". You should close all applications, including the SBRG, before installing Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Approval and full-versions of Acrobat enable you to Fill-in, Print, Search, and save PDF documents. While viewing PDFs in your browser, you may only search for text in the pdf you are viewing. To search all of the pdfs on the SBRG simultaneously, follow the instructions below. Performing an Index Search: Open the file named "indexsearch.pdf" directly from the CD-ROM. Click the "binocular with paper" icon on the Acrobat toolbar. For complete instructions, view the Acrobat Help Guide for information on how to use the Index Search. Troubleshooting: Problem: "I get an error when I try to save my fill-in forms." Solution: Do not attempt to save your forms on the CD-ROM. Use "Save As" to save the files to your hard drive. Problem: "My printer doesn't have enough memory to print an Acrobat file." Solution: Try to print one page or a group of pages at a time. If possible, upgrade your printer memory. Problem: "Acrobat Reader opens my .pdf files. I want Acrobat Approval to open them so I can save the data I enter in my fill-in forms." Solutions: Windows uses the last Adobe Acrobat product installed on your computer as the default "open" program. A version of Acrobat Reader may have been installed after Acrobat Approval was loaded. Open Acrobat Approval 5.05, then open the desired pdf file. Or, reinstall Approval so it becomes the default program. Problem: "I can only search the Acrobat file that is open. I want to be able to search all of the Acrobat files at once." Solution: See "Performing an Index Search" earlier in this readme. Power-Users: You can load the Search Index into any pdf file It is located in the "pdfs" folder on the SBRG CD-ROM. Video Troubleshooting: Most problems you encounter will be corrected by installing the latest version of your operating system's video player.
